.......Core Values
We are about building bridges to unbelievers
The best thing we can do for someone is lead them to personal faith in Jesus
Our new global strategy is about people and how God can change their lives, all kinds of people, in all kinds of places, in all kinds of ways.
as their Savior and Lord. Before this can happen we must develop a relationship with unbelievers and help remove the barriers that exist between them and God.
We are on a journey from self to service to the community.
The power of the gospel is combining the life-changing message with selfless service. The next reconciliation movement needs to be between the church and the community.
We do service and ministry through teams.
The unity of a team, centered on a purpose, and using our unique gifts and abilities will allow us to help people across generations, cultures, and economics. Our personal involvement is confirmed and enhanced by working with others.
We must network with all appropriate and available resources.
"I use to think I could change the world. Now I just want to change the stream….not by standing on the bank and yelling, but by getting in the water." We must constantly asked, "Who can help me and who can I help?"
We must commit to loving, listening, and learning.
We need to love, listen, and learn and not to assume and be inflexible. The problem is not ignorance, but the illusion of knowledge. We must earn the right to be heard.
.......Key Verses
Matthew 28:18-20
Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
...explore, discover, and connect to our new Global Impact through a variety of ways. Our Global Impact Launch is not just about information; it's about engaging our world for Christ. Keep an open mind and most importantly, an open heart Listen for God's voice and respond to Him as he leads you.
Acts 15:12-19
The whole assembly became silent as they listened to Barnabas and Paul telling about the miraculous signs and wonders God had done among the Gentiles through them. When they finished, James spoke up: "Brothers, listen to me. Simon has described to us how God at first showed his concern by taking from the Gentiles a people for himself…..It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God.
Mark 12: 28-31
One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, "Of all the commandments, which is the most important?" "The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: '….Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all you mind and with all you strength.' The second is this: 'Love you neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these."
Matthew 14:14-16
When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick. As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, "This is a remote place, and it's already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food." Jesus replied, "They do not need to go way. You give them something to eat."
Matthew 4:23
Jesus went throughout Galilee teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people."
...new strategy to allow God to use the people of The Oaks to impact the world for Him. Our very purpose in life and the reason God created us in meshed together with this idea of Global Impact.
Matthew 5: 13-16
You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again?.....You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a candle and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
Mark 1: 16-17
As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."
.......How Global Impact Works?
How are the funds distributed?
Under each area you will see a dollar amount and a percentage amount. If we reach our goal of $50,000, then the dollar amount reflects how much will be sent to the specific area of ministry. If we do not reach the goal or go over the goal, then the percentage is used to determine the amount sent.
Some areas are sent money throughout the year as the funds come in and are sent based on the percentages. Some areas are sent money after the end of the year.
Who determines the goal, amounts, and percentages?
Your Global Impact Team determines these. They listen to many presentations from various ministries, do research of currently supported ministries, and are sensitive to God’s leading. They spend time in prayer, discussion, and priority decision making before determining the final goal and amounts.
How can I give to the Global Impact Offering?
You can use your contribution envelopes and indicate the amount under Global Impact Offering. You can set up a bank draft with the church office or use your credit card. You can also contribute online using OaksAccess.
You can give throughout the year, do projects to raise money, save your money and give it on the Global Impact Day on December 9, or give anytime and anyway you want to!
